Is The ‘Pregnancy Brain’ A Complete Myth?

02.03.10 | 2 Comments

Are you, or were you, one of those women  who blamed their forgetfulness when expecting on the pregnancy?

I certainly was but, according to a BBC article today, a study of 1,241 women (pre- and post birth) has shown that neither pregnancy nor motherhood addles a womans brain!

Experts have put the absentmindedness down to a shift in attention to the baby, saying that pregnant women move their attention away from work issues to help them prepare for the impending birth.

Did you hear Jamie-Lee talking about it on Radio 2 this afternoon. She defo didn’t think it was a myth – she said the only reason she thought she was pregnant and took a pregnancy test was cos she forgot her pin number! I think she has quiet a brood – so I’ll beleive her!

I missed that but I def believe I had pregnancy brain – I used to do salsa dancing but after I got pregnant I kept forgetting the steps and in the end had to quit dancing! There’s gotta be something in it.
